One day at a time

So we set a goal lets say lose 20 lbs and we all know the feeling when we set a goal, EXCITED AND MOTIVATED we can see the finished product already.  This is great but can also sway our progress, I will explain.  So you wake up the next morning and nothing can stop you, food ready, did cardio you are on your way!!  Flash forward 2 weeks and you wake up saying "fuck this, nothing is happening I am not seeing results."  This is where seeing that 20lb less you can start to fuck with you.  YOU WANT IT NOW!!  You have been working so hard and because all you want to see is the 20lb less you, you are feeling like a failure.  This is some advice I have for you that has helped me over the years.  Dont look at the finish line it will get you too frustrated!  Set daily goals, thats right daily goals and conquer them!!  Go to bed empowered using one day at a time to get you to the finish line!! :)  Nothing comes easy but tackling one day is alot easier than trying to tackle a month at a time.  So plan each day, wake up with a purpose for that day and make it count.  Before you know it....  YOU DID IT! :)  Cherish, embrace and own each day it will keep you motivated and ready to meet any goal.

THE SAME

The gym can be a very intimidating place for both men and women and then when you have a women like me enter it, it can really amp up the intimidation factor.  This is what I wish more people who may "fear" the gym knew about a women like me.

- I am the man/women on the tredmill fighting obesity
- I am the women trying to get that baby weight off
- I am the man/women who emotionally eats
- I am the man/women who had a health scare and trying to get their health and fitness improved

You may say to yourself HOW THE HELL ARE YOU LIKE THEM!  Its quite simple..  Although our goals may be different, we both have them.  Although our struggles may be different, we both have them.  No matter what fitness level or how extreme you look you better believe you will have goals and struggles along the way.  So although I may look much different then most... we are the same!  The day I walk into a gym and feel my workout is more important than anothers or I am better than another is the day I have totally lost myself.  That day will NEVER come its not who I am or who I would ever want to become.  HUMBLE, more people need to practice being it.. :)

SILLY

Today I was on the move alot of the day so I was in and out of my car.  While driving home I caught myself singing  the "Power of Love" by Celine Dion! LOL  I starting laughing at myself so hard!  I think it was trying to hit those high notes with this voice of mine!  I was in total dork mode but hey it gave me a good laugh even if it was at myself! :)  Have a great rest of your week!!

FAILURE

Failure can be a hard pill to swallow and often makes us hang our heads.  We have all been there, failed in our personal or professional lives and it never feels good.  Looking back on the times I have failed I noticed something very cool!  With each failure I learned VALUABLE lessons and a bit more about myself.  People say failure should not define you but its the times I have failed that allowed me to be who I am today.  Learn, change and let yourself reflect on a failure, you may just learn more about yourself and what you are really made of more so than if it was a success.  So dont fear failure I have found it to be my greatest teacher to help mold me into who I am today as an athlete and a person.
